{Children} Ella + Easton

For me, sometimes newborn photo shoots can be either hit or miss. There are so many variables to having a successful shoot and most of those variables you are unable to control or change in your favor. It is vital to keep the baby comfortable, warm, full, and calm. While working outside (especially in Texas weather, which is bipolar these days) keeping the baby comfortable, warm, full, and calm can be a challenge. However, working with newborns (and their siblings) is incredibly rewarding and fun.

I had the pleasure and honor of being asked to photograph a sweet newborn, Easton, and his seven year old big sister, Ella. Their mommy is Deidra, who happens to be the cousin of a good friend of mine, Carlynn (who you may remember from her sweet little ones' recent photo shoot, which you can see here). This newborn shoot was definitely a hit. I was surrounded by Deidra's family (who were exceptionally helpful in carrying all the props anywhere we needed to go) on Carlynn's beautiful land. Deidra was the perfect mom-client because she was right there beside me the entire time but trusted me enough to take care of her precious babies. She allowed me to do my thing, including calming little Easton down when he was unhappy and letting Ella run wild when I knew she needed a break.

I really had a fantastic time with this sweet family and I won't forget how Ella (the little seven year old in cowgirl boots) honestly beat me when we raced back from the creek (apparently I need to up my cardio).

Without further ado, please enjoy!
